We are seeking a Commercial Policy Manager to join our Academia & Government team in Belgrade. In this role, you will support the commercial structuring of deals, develop tailored pricing and fee models, oversee discounting strategies, and help drive the implementation of new pricing approaches. As a trusted commercial partner, you will guide the Sales team through every stage of the quoting process, providing strategic and commercial advice to ensure our product offerings are priced effectively for each client segment.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial deal support, pricing, finance, or a related area, including experience with SaaS or software pricing, pricing and approval reviews, complex or multi-product customer deals, and close collaboration with Sales teams throughout the deal process
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in English

  • Experience navigating a complex, cross-functional matrix organization and building credibility and stakeholder buy-in
  • Experience communicating effectively and presenting information in different formats to audiences across levels and cultures
  • Experience making decisions in situations where information is incomplete or ambiguous

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Supporting the commercial structuring of deals, the development of bespoke fee structures, management of deal discounting and execution of new pricing models
  • Managing the approval process in compliance with our corporate governance structure and commercial framework to ensure that all deals are appropriately structured and approved expediently and that a clear audit trail is maintained
  • Supporting the sales process and maximizing sales effectiveness by ensuring Sales are equipped with the right toolkit to effectively sell to each market and client segment
  • Guide the Sales team through the various stages of the quoting process; providing commercial and strategic advice around the pricing of our product propositions to each client segment
  • Support the commercial structuring of deals, including the development of bespoke fee structures, management of discounting within delegated authority and escalation of non-standard pricing where decisions require senior sign-off
  • Solve unique, complex and broad commercial issues that may not necessarily have prescribed solutions or guidelines
  • Manage the governance process for pricing approvals, working with key stakeholders to ensure that compelling and accurate business cases are submitted for approval
  • Manage the approval process in compliance with the escalation matrix, including approval workflows in Salesforce. Maintain a clear audit trail and action log of deal approvals
  • Guide the Sales team through multiple cross-functional stakeholders during the sales cycle, acting as the central conduit to remove any commercial blockers that prevent a deal to move forward

We work collaboratively with all areas of our business to ensure alignment between market competitiveness, and profitability of all Clarivate products including access to various content via subscriptions and/or the software tools to support every facet of research. We are a key member of the Go-To-Market strategy and can impact the success of the sales and support teams – and ultimately, deliver excellent value to our customers. You will report directly to the Manager, Commercial Policy.

Hours of Work

This is a permanent full-time position, with working hours from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM in the CET time zone.

This is a hybrid position; you will be expected to work from our Belgrade office 3 days every other week.
