Job Description:
About the Position:
Are you energized by solving complex supply chain challenges and ensuring critical semiconductor components are available when and where they are needed? We are seeking a highly analytical, results-driven Commodity Planning & Procurement Manager II to lead component planning for HPE Networking sustaining semiconductor and memory products. This role owns component supply health through forecasting, procurement, inventory management, supplier collaboration, and risk mitigation, ensuring continuity of supply in a fast-paced, high-complexity environment.
Working across suppliers, distributors, ODM/CM partners, procurement, engineering, and operations teams, you will drive supply strategies, identify risks before they impact production, and execute solutions that optimize cost, inventory, and customer delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead fulfillment strategies across component suppliers, distributors/3PLs, ODM/CM partners, and internal teams, including developing and executing procurement strategies.
- Drive inventory management and improve turns in a dynamic environment while resolving shortages with urgency and precision.
- Lead co‑planning/CPFR activities with suppliers, including enhancing, automating, and maintaining reporting tools and performance dashboards.
Own component forecasting and supply health metrics, proactively identifying risks and executing mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted production
- Resolve component shortages by coordinating with suppliers, procurement, engineering, and operations teams.
- Lead supply reporting, including dashboards, shortage summaries, and executive‑level updates.
Own procurement execution activities including purchase order management, lead-time tracking, supplier commitments, and supply continuity planning.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, forecast risks, and drive strategic actions.
- Support cost‑reduction and process‑improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
Required Qualifications
- Deep understanding of semiconductor commodities including silicon, wireless, FPGA, CPU and memory supply chains, including lead-time management, allocation environments, lifecycle planning, and supplier engagement strategies.
- Advanced analytical skills, including Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas, dashboards). Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools is preferred
- Experience in material management, demand planning, direct procurement or supply chain operations.
- Strong understanding of component‑level supply chains, ideally in high‑tech hardware.
- Proven ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication, presentation and collaboration skills.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field; advanced university degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in semiconductor supply chain, commodity management, demand/supply planning, procurement, or supply operations
- Background in networking, server, or hardware manufacturing environments.
- Process improvement mindset with experience driving operational efficiency.

- Maintain continuity of supply across your assigned commodity portfolio.
- Improve forecast accuracy and supply visibility through effective planning, supplier collaboration, and risk management.
- Reduce component shortages and expedite costs through proactive supply monitoring and mitigation planning.
- Optimize inventory turns while maintaining appropriate supply coverage to support business requirements.
- Strengthen supplier performance by improving delivery reliability, commitment accuracy, and responsiveness.
- Identify and mitigate supply risks before they impact production, customer deliveries, or revenue.
- Deliver accurate and actionable reporting that enables effective decision-making and executive visibility.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning processes, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiency.
- Build strong partnerships across engineering, planning, operations, suppliers, and procurement teams to ensure rapid resolution of supply issues.
- Serve as a trusted commodity expert, providing strategic recommendations that optimize supply, inventory, cost, and customer fulfillment.
