Corporate Information Program Manager

As the Corporate Information Program Manager, represents and promotes the image and reputation of the Airports Authority as a key internal and external communications contact. Serves as a communications resource within the Corporate Communications Division, providing editorial leadership, executive communications support, media relations support, strategic messaging development and support, corporate publication management, and backup support to the Noise Information Office.

Serves in the Corporate Communications Division within the Office of Communications and Government Affairs at Corporate Headquarters.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides communications support to the Director of Corporate Communications and other leadership by developing and disseminating accurate, timely, and effective corporate messages to internal and external stakeholders.

Develops and coordinates communications and outreach plans by gathering, analyzing, and reporting information from other airports and related organizations; identifies and implements communications best practices applicable to the Airports Authority.

Produces communications materials and publications for internal and external audiences, including correspondence, speeches, presentations, talking points, position papers, newsletters, corporate reports, and other materials prepared for internal and external audiences.

Serves as publisher and chief editor of the weekly On Good Authority employee newsletter, setting editorial priorities and schedules, coordinating news writing and visual coverage, managing contributions and distribution, and identifying opportunities to improve the publication and its coverage. Also serves as editor of the quarterly business-to-business stakeholder newsletter and similar corporate publications.

Provides editorial support for corporate reports and publications produced by the Office of Revenue and other organizational functions, including Regulatory Compliance and Community Engagement, ensuring materials are accurate, effective, and professionally presented.

Manages executive communications in consultation with the Director of Corporate Communications and Vice President for Communications and Government Affairs, developing speech texts, talking points, video scripts, background materials, presentations, and related communications including public appearances, Board meetings, employee forums, and other organizational events. Provides logistical support as needed.

Provides communications and technical support to the Noise Information Office, serving as backup to the Noise Information Office Manager and supporting public relations, reporting, technical communications, and related initiatives. Supports preparation of the Authority Authority’s Annual Aircraft Noise Report and provides communications and administrative support for the Reagan National Airport Community Noise Working Group.

Coordinates with Planning, Engineering, and other organizational functions on communications and information needs related to airport encroachment, flight-path obstruction, and other noise-related or airport operational matters, including development of materials used to communicate these issues to internal and external stakeholders.

Assists the Media Relations team with drafting press releases, statements, position papers, presentation materials, and other media communications; assists with planning and management of media events and serves as a member of the Media Relations On-Call Team.

Provides communications support during corporate emergencies and other sensitive or high-visibility situations, responding to media inquiries and assisting with the development and coordination of timely corporate communications.

Maintains awareness of emerging communications, public affairs, and media practices and applies appropriate methods and technologies to strengthen the Airports Authority's communications effectiveness, reputation, and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Six years of progressively responsible experience in corporate communications or a related field, including community and media outreach; developing communications and outreach strategies; drafting speeches and visual materials for senior management; preparing news releases and related materials; managing corporate publications; and developing communications for internal and external audiences. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Superior writing and editing skills, including the ability to develop polished communications for executive and public audiences.

Superior public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to coach others in writing, editing, and public presentations.

Superior skills in corporate message formulation and dissemination to build and safeguard the Airports Authority's image and reputation.

Demonstrated ability to manage communications involving public criticism, political issues, emergency situations, corporate advocacy, and other sensitive public relations matters.

Knowledge of generally accepted public affairs, public information, media relations, and corporate communications principles, objectives, standards, and techniques, with the ability to apply them to ensure accurate, timely, and effective communications.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior leadership, internal business units, media representatives, community stakeholders, and other external parties.

Ability to quickly move between multiple airport and company locations when required.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in Communications or a related field.

Experience with videography, photography, and video/audio editing used in media and corporate communications.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIRED

Valid driver's license in good standing.

NECESSARY SPECIAL FACTORS

Operates a motor vehicle airside and landside and requires an AOA permit.

May be required to work nights, holidays, or weekends in support of Airports Authority meetings, events, emergency communications, and the Media Relations on-call rotation.

Participates in the Media Relations on-call rotation and may be required to provide coverage for reporter inquiries and corporate emergencies.
