Animal Doctors of South Tampa is looking for an experienced Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team. We are a busy walk-in veterinary hospital serving dogs and cats, providing wellness, urgent care, dentistry, and surgery.

The ideal candidate is confident working alongside veterinarians and fellow technicians and is comfortable in a fast-paced environment. This position requires strong technical skills, including patient handling and restraint, IV catheter placement, blood draws, laboratory procedures, radiology and positioning, surgery assistance, and surgery recovery.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in providing excellent patient care, understands the importance of client education, communicates well with the team, and is committed to continuing to grow their knowledge and skills in veterinary medicine.

Requirements

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the State of Florida
  • 2+ years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician
  • Previous surgery experience required
  • Confident assisting with surgery and surgery recovery
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
  • Ability to confidently place IV catheters
  • Experience with blood draws and running in-house bloodwork
  • Knowledge of radiology and proper patient positioning
  • Comfortable using standard veterinary laboratory equipment and tools
  • Understanding of animal behavior and veterinary healthcare
  • Strong client education and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Positive, supportive, and team-oriented attitude
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners
  • Ability to work a rotating Saturday schedule
