Description
Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical care team. This role involves providing nursing care throughout the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases. The RN will serve as a patient advocate and collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow team members to ensure optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, individualized nursing care in Pre-op, PACU, and O.R. settings.
- Conduct thorough preoperative assessments and implement care plans.
- Monitor patients post-operatively for progress and complications.
- Educate patients and caregivers on discharge instructions and recovery.
- Participate in admitting and discharging patients in a timely, safe manner.
- Support infection control and safety protocols.
- Assist with inventory, stocking, and maintaining a clean peri-operative environment.
- Respond competently to emergency situations and alarms.
- Collaborate in QAPI initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and orientation of new personnel.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in the state.
- BLS/ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience in surgical or ambulatory care settings preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules and patient care assignments.
