JOB DESCRIPTION: DELI CLERK

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• •Rotates, stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies.
• •Correctly prices all merchandise according to departmental guidelines
• •Follows proper wrapping and packaging procedure; including the use of the correct size tray and plastic wrap &/or container
• •Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.).
• •Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age; follows all safety policies and procedures
• •Cleans all required deli-bakery department tools and equipment
• •Follows proper procedure for producing all bakery/deli products
• •Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions.
• •Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

• •Maintains a neat and clean work area.
• •Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy
• •Perform all job functions with limited supervision
• •May be required to decorate cakes
• •Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
• •Ability to lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds
• •Ability to work in temperature extremes, (frozen foods & storage cooler maximum low temperature, -10 degrees).
• •Orders product according to established guidelines in the absence of deli manager
• •Other duties as assigned
