Department Lead – Packaging (12hr Nights)
Tampa, FL
Join Lonza’s Tampa site as a Department Lead in Packaging, where you’ll help drive safe, compliant, and efficient packaging operations that support our mission of improving patients’ lives. What you will do
- Lead Packaging operations, ensuring batch record execution and documentation meets cGMP standards.
- Support Manufacturing, QA, Warehouse, and Facilities teams to ensure alignment with FDA and company requirements.
- Oversee and coordinate cleaning and sanitization of primary and secondary packaging rooms and equipment.
- Assign and direct staff to production rooms to ensure smooth operations and address packaging‑related blocking issues.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment and help set up automated machinery for packaging processes.
- Reconcile and move materials between packaging areas and the warehouse.
- Train Operators and support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with SQDC goals.
What we are looking for
- 4+ years of relevant experience within a manufacturing, packaging, or GMP‑regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of cGMP requirements and documentation practices.
- Ability to lead others, troubleshoot equipment, and support cross‑functional operations.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work effectively on a 12hr night shift schedule.
- Experience with automated packaging equipment is a plus.
