Job Description

The Digital Communications Specialist serves as a key link between business needs and technology solutions within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s digital workplace. This role supports the development and execution of effective digital communications that enhance colleague engagement and ensure clear, consistent information delivery.

The specialist is responsible for creating and managing content across the company intranet, utilizing platforms such as ServiceNow and SharePoint. In addition, the role includes designing, building, and executing email communications through a third-party platform, ensuring accuracy, usability, and alignment with established standards.

Working in partnership with stakeholders across the organization, the Digital Communications Specialist gathers requirements, recommends appropriate communication approaches, and helps implement solutions that address business objectives. The role contributes to defining specifications and supports the delivery of digital communication initiatives from concept through execution.

As a member of the Corporate Communications team, this position provides guidance on the effective use of Microsoft 365 tools and digital communication platforms. The specialist applies best practices and established guidelines to ensure communications are aligned with corporate strategy, governance, and user experience principles.

This role actively leverages advanced digital tools, including generative AI technologies such as ChatGPT, as a core part of the content development and communications process. The specialist is expected to use AI to enhance content quality, accelerate production, personalize messaging, and drive continuous improvement in communication effectiveness. This includes applying sound judgment to ensure outputs are accurate, compliant, and aligned with corporate standards, as well as identifying new opportunities to integrate AI-driven solutions into digital communications workflows.
