Dining Assistant - Part Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable, hard-working, and compassionate Dining Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment that supports exceptional dining experiences for our residents. This position plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in ensuring that every meal is served with care, dignity, and respect for those we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

• •Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area and kitchen.
• •Follow all food safety and sanitization guidelines to protect the health and wellness of our residents.
• •Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment in a timely manner.
• •Restock clean items in their proper locations for use during meal service.
• •Assist in the proper disposal of waste and recycling materials.
• •Collaborate with dining team members to ensure an efficient meal service.
• •Support the dining team with cleaning the dining area and other tasks as needed.
• •Respond to resident requests and concerns promptly and professionally.
• •Assist with special events, holiday meals, and family gatherings as needed.
• •Promptly report any maintenance or equipment issues to the appropriate staff.

Requirements

Education:

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Skills and Qualifications:

• •Prior experience in dishwashing or food service preferred. Experience in senior living, healthcare, or a similar setting is a plus.
• •Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• •Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• •Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude towards residents and coworkers.
• •Dependable and self-motivated.
• •Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fast-paced environment.
• •Strong time management and organizational skills.
• •Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• •Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a warm, humid kitchen environment.
• •Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
• •Ability to safety lift and carry up to 50 lbs., including hot and heavy dishware.
• •Ability to navigate kitchen areas safely, which can include frequent walking, bending, reaching, squatting, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
