Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Director, Technology Business Leader for the Asia-Pacific Region located in Japan.

This role serves as the senior technology leader and strategic partner to the DePuy Synthes ASPAC region leadership team. The Director owns the strategy, prioritization and execution of technology and data across the full Asia-Pacific Region value chain—Commercial, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, R&D and enabling functions—translating business growth agenda into differentiated, in‑market outcomes.

This is an end-to-end technology business interfacing role. The Director is the single point of technology accountability for Asia-Pacific, shaping and prioritizing demand, governing portfolio health, and driving decision-making, while partnering with the global Technology organization and enterprise IT teams to ensure secure, reliable operations and to keep delivery commitments, risks and dependencies visible and actively managed.

The role balances local market requirements, Asia-Pacific Region and specific market regulatory and language localization needs, enterprise standards, cybersecurity, compliance and global scalability—operating at the intersection of in‑market business strategy, end‑to‑end technology execution and separation readiness.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Technology Strategy & Execution

Act as the end‑to‑end technology leader, owning the strategy, prioritization and execution of technology and data across Commercial, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, R&D and enabling functions.

Ensure sustained, reliable operations of technology ecosystems and data products across the value chain.

Drive the business to explore, adopt and deploy digital, data and AI capabilities aligned to Asia-Pacific Region growth priorities.

Coordinate with the global Technology organization, CTO and CISO to ensure secure, resilient and standardized technology execution in market.

Strategic Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement

Serve as trusted technology advisor to the Asia-Pacific Region leadership team and participate in the local leadership cadence.

Translate Asia-Pacific Region business strategy into technology roadmaps, investment priorities, governance decisions and value realization plans.

Provide guidance on simplification, standardization, analytics, automation, AI and innovation.

Represent Asia-Pacific Region needs in enterprise and regional funding, portfolio and roadmap decisions to ensure in‑market priorities are appropriately weighted.

Demand Management, Portfolio Health & Governance

Own Asia-Pacific Region business technology demand management, intake, prioritization and portfolio health across the full value chain.

Partner with enterprise IT teams to ensure delivery commitments, risks, dependencies, resourcing and funding are transparent and actively managed.

Lead business reviews and operating rhythms that drive prioritization decisions, trade‑offs, adoption and value realization.

Establish metrics and dashboards to monitor service quality, technology performance and business satisfaction.

Commercial & Operational Enablement

Enable digital sales, marketing, pricing, channel and customer engagement capabilities.

Lead technology capabilities that improve inventory visibility, demand sensing, forecasting, replenishment, logistics performance and service levels.

Partner with manufacturing, quality, engineering and R&D teams to modernize operational technology, product lifecycle and new‑product‑introduction capabilities in market.

Improve visibility into growth opportunities, market performance, execution gaps, supply reliability and customer trends.

Localization, Harmonization & Enterprise Platforms

Balance Asia-Pacific Region market needs with enterprise standards, scalable platforms and consistent data models.

Support Asia-Pacific Region and market(s) localization requirements for language, regulatory, commercial, data and process needs.

Drive adoption of enterprise platforms while simplifying local variation where possible, and partner with the Global Capability Center (GCC) to leverage shared engineering, data and operations capacity for in‑market delivery.

Data, Governance, Risk & Insights

Deliver dashboards and analytics that improve decision‑making and feed regional and global reporting.

Strengthen data quality, governance and accessibility in market.

Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, privacy, data governance, SOX, quality, regulatory and enterprise risk expectations, including market‑specific requirements, and drive business continuity, resilience and secure‑by‑design adoption.

Financial & Value Management

Manage assigned technology investments, forecasts, budgets and benefits realization commitments.

Develop business cases and funding recommendations with clear trade‑offs, outcomes and return expectations.

Provide transparency to cost, scope, timing, value and risk.

Talent, Change & Adoption

Lead through influence across matrixed technology, business and supplier teams, and manage and develop technology talent.

Build adoption plans, communications, training and business readiness approaches for major initiatives.

Coach and develop talent while promoting accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Separation & Standalone Readiness

Own the Asia-Pacific Region technology dimension of separation and standalone readiness, ensuring end‑to‑end local demand, dependencies and risks are prioritized for Day 1 and Day 2 across the value chain.

Partner with enterprise IT, the separation management office and business leaders to sustain continuity of business operations through the transition.

Provide oversight of TSA execution and exit, ensuring commitments, timelines and risks are tracked.

Balance standalone build decisions with enterprise standards to avoid fragmentation as the standalone operating model takes shape.
