Develop and coordinate distribution plans for high-priority stories, announcements, campaigns and institutional initiatives, identifying priority audiences, desired outcomes, channel roles, timing, content adaptations, distribution partners and performance measures.
Identify and prioritize the audiences most important to each initiative, distinguishing between broad awareness goals and efforts intended to reach specific communities, professions, industries, regions or stakeholders.
Conduct and synthesize research on current and desired audiences using social listening, search behavior, channel analytics, media intelligence, subscriber data and other appropriate sources to identify behaviors, needs, strengths, challenges and opportunities for growth.
Determine how one piece of content can be adapted for different audiences and contexts without compromising accuracy or quality.
Identify opportunities to amplify and resurface priority content through coordinated distribution waves, follow-up angles, new formats, timely connections and partner distribution.
Explore and identify podcasts, creators, professional associations, community organizations, niche publications, newsletters, digital platforms, syndication services and other partners that can help reach and activate new audiences.
Audit all existing MRSC distribution channels, including YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and newsletters, assessing the reach, engagement, strengths and opportunities for improvement.
Establish consistent definitions and methods for evaluating distribution performance.
Create audience and distribution reports that translate performance data and audience trends into clear recommendations.
Design and evaluate pilots involving new audiences, platforms, formats, partnerships and paid or organic distribution approaches, recommending whether successful practices should be scaled, revised or discontinued.
Develop audience segments and personas and, in partnership with channel owners, recommend nurture strategies that grow and deepen relationships with priority audiences.
Collaborate with other units and colleges across ASU to identify opportunities that benefit both central communications and the units.
Work closely with the university Brand team to enhance distribution of MRSC-created content.
Monitor changes in communications tools, platforms and audience behavior, and present recommendations regarding emerging approaches to enhance content distribution, audience development and engagement.
