Job Description

About the Job

Visa’s internal Social Studio is seeking a Director, Social Strategy, Community Insights , to lead the research and development of community-first insights that directly fuel social concepts, content, and campaigns aligning with brand and business objectives.

This role will play a critical role in enabling flagship social capabilities and growth across Core Brand and Marketing Services initiatives, serving as an embedded subject matter expert and partnering with a team of dedicated Social Strategists, Creatives, Community Managers, Project Managers, Producers, and Business Leads to continually build and evolve a best-in-class in-house model.

What You’ll Do

  • Create a pipeline of community-first insights derived from social data, with an emphasis on uncovering patterns, behaviors, and intersections that can fuel social content creation and campaign strategy.
  • Combine advanced social listening, data analysis, and qualitative research to identify creative and strategic territories with disproportionate engagement or brand relevance potential.
  • Partner to develop advanced community insights frameworks for each social content type (hero/tentpole, always-on, and reactive), inclusive of social listening, performance reporting, audience segmentation, and 3rd party/offline inputs, with the goal of creating bespoke content that consistently breaks through on priority platforms.
  • Present key insights and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders of all seniorities, ensuring findings are communicated in a way that’s clear, relevant, and tied to brand priorities.
  • Partner closely across Global Brand, Marketing Services, and cross-functional teams to brainstorm, refine, and execute global social campaigns across priority brand and cultural moments.
  • Mine, track and identify trends from the Visa community that can inform future strategies, franchises and campaigns.
  • Continually analyze, visualize, and contextualize learnings from previous content and campaigns to help optimize ongoing efforts by channel and content type.
  • Partner with Creative Studio leadership to develop a community insights-first culture, modeling excellence and guiding collaborators on how to move from observation to insight to creative.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Deep experience leading social insights development across multiple priority platforms, ranging from analyzing large data sets to evaluating individual posts
  • Proficiency working with Social Strategists and Creatives to translate insights and recommendations into social-first content and concepts
  • Portfolio of brand content or activations, especially those across Sports, Music, and Travel, fueled by social-first insights and recommendations
  • Deep understanding of the creative and production process, with proven ability to partner across key functions, including Brand, Strategy, Editorial, Production, Operations, Media, and Creators
  • Strong understanding of best-in-class campaigns and content by social platform
  • Content strategy, financial services or payments industry experience preferred
  • Extremely organized with keen attention to detail
  • Experience collaborating across complex global teams
  • Proven ability to drive results with a high degree of personal initiative and subject matter expertise in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with limited resources

Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $179,000.00 to $ 287,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Work Hours

Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
