The Director, Strategic Partnerships and Business Operations is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance across a large portfolio of global investment and data licensing collaborations involving genetic and associated health data. This leader will be responsible for tracking and monitoring the research, business and finance deliverables of each collaboration, maintaining compliance and reporting out to leadership on the status of the active portfolio. The Director will be responsible for overseeing data governance, collaboration finance, strategic vendor contracting and Confidential Disclosure Agreement (CDA) processing, working in collaboration with senior leaders in research program management, business, legal and finance. The Director will oversee several headcount, both directly and indirectly in the management of this portfolio.

Discover your role:

• •Track and manage compliance across a portfolio of 155+ global data licensing collaborations involving genetic and associated health data, including ongoing monitoring, risk assessment, and remediation.
• •Oversee the development and operationalization of RGC data governance policies, procedures, consent frameworks, data use agreements, specific to genetic and health data; collaborate with the Privacy Office on privacy impact assessments and other regulatory requirements
• •Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data governance and compliance professionals; foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous learning.
• •Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal (including the Privacy Office), IT Security, Research, and Business Development to embed privacy-by-design into data collaboration workflows and new initiatives.

This role requires:

• •Master's degree in Genetics, Business, Legal, Bioethics, Life Sciences, or a related field; OR relevant degree with experience in contract compliance and sponsored research.
• •An equivalent combination of advanced education and 15+ years of directly relevant experience may be considered.

• •Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in contracting, alliance/portfolio management or compliance, with at least 5 years focused on genetic or health data in a research, biopharmaceutical, or biotech setting.
• •Strong knowledge of genomic data governance frameworks, international privacy laws, including the NIH Genomic Data Sharing Policy and GA4GH standards.
• •Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements for scientific, and executive audiences.
• •Proven leadership ability with experience building and managing high-performing compliance teams.

Salary Range (annually)

$183,100.00 - $305,200.00
