Dispatcher

Description

The Dispatcher will oversee a fleet of truck drivers, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and federal regulations. This role demands excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• •Assign and schedule drivers to routes based on delivery requirements and driver availability.
• •Communicate with drivers to provide instructions and updates throughout the day.
• •Monitor and track the progress of deliveries, addressing any issues or delays.
• •Maintain accurate records of driver logs, delivery times, and route details.
• •Collaborate with customer service to address and resolve delivery-related inquiries.
• •Ensure compliance with all safety and DOT regulations.
• •Analyze and optimize route efficiency to reduce costs and improve service levels.
• •Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
• •Analyze and improve fleet performance metrics to enhance operational efficiency.
• •Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety meetings and training.
• •Address and resolve HOS or safety-related issues promptly.
• •Provide support in case of emergencies or unforeseen situations.

Requirements

Qualifications

• •High School Diploma or GED; Associate Degree in Logistics or a related field preferred.
• •Minimum of 2 years of experience in dispatching or a related field.
• •Strong communication and multitasking skills.
• •Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance.
• •Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• •Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
