Summary
You will serve as a EDUCATION SPECIALIST in the ADMISSIONS COST CENTER of the NAVAL ACADEMY.
Duties
- You will retrieve, identify, examine, and process application files for accuracy and completeness.
- You will follow up with Admissions Board queries to resolve questions/discrepancies in candidate files.
- You will review transcripts of incoming non-candidates and evaluate their potential to become candidates.
- You will audit selected application files, when requested.
- You will collect, analyze, and compile numerical data for the Class Profile and Admissions weekly status reports.
Qualifications
GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying laws, regulations, and established admissions guidance to ensure applications are processed accurately, consistently, and in accordance with requirements; 2) Implementing U.S. Naval Academy Admission Board, or similar organization, policies and procedures when reviewing applicant records, identifying deficiencies, and supporting admissions actions; 3) Utilizing Salesforce and other automated admissions systems to maintain applicant records, track application status, validate information, and produce required reports; 4) Identifying and developing awareness of key influencers and stakeholder networks within assigned geographic regions to support outreach and applicant engagement; and 5) Supporting Office of Admissions strategy and goals by delivering accurate, timely, and customer-focused guidance on admissions processes and requirements. GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing automated software programs to perform administrative functions; 2) Liaising with multiple departments to gather and validate information; 3) Reviewing and auditing applications/files to ensure accuracy; 4) Answering questions on academic admissions processes and procedures. Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-09: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related GS-07: 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
