What You’ll Do:

As a Maintenance Electrician, you’ll be part of our Maintenance team located in Decorah, IA. You’ll get to:

  • With assistance install, maintain, and repair manufacturing electrical systems. Work to minimize manufacturing machine downtime using corrective and preventive electrical methods. Maintain Decorah’s manufacturing equipment, facilities and property
  • With assistance use electrical techniques to install, maintain, and repair manufacturing equipment.
  • With assistance, use electrical techniques to install, maintain, and repair facility related equipment.
  • With assistance complete preventive and corrective repairs with assistance.
  • With assistance fabricate, rebuild, design and install electrical systems and schematics.
  • Operate and maintain various shop equipment, hand tools, measuring, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Document completed repairs.
  • Follow safe work practices and procedures.
  • With assistance, maintain facility access control, fire alarm, emergency lighting, and computer battery backup systems.
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor or lead person.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • 2-year Industrial Electrician Technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Journeyman’s license.
  • AC/ DC motor control installation and troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical installation and troubleshooting of oil lubrication, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with basic PLC programming knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with basic variable speed drives installation, programming parameters and troubleshooting.
  • Basic computer skills used for work associated programs.
  • Skilled in reading and using blueprints and schematics.
  • Operation of shop equipment including but not limited to welding equipment, brake, shears, mills, drill press, lathes, metal saws, surface grinders etc.
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO14001 requirements.
