Summary
This ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC position, within an Air National Guard Aviation Wing, Maintenance Group, Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Avionics Element, Avionics Shop, Communications/Navigation/ECM, or Guidance and Control shop and is part of the CA 146 AW.
Duties
THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION. The primary purpose of the ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-12/13, is to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. The worker in this career field must demonstrate the ability to perform on- or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems. May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.
Qualifications
General Experience: Possess experience, education or training which provides the ability to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes. ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-12 (Training Grade): Must have at least 18 months of experience performing on-or-off equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial or radar navigation systems; Experience performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on one or more multi-complex electronic integrated systems; Experience conducting operational checks, inspections, tests, trouble shooting, removal and replacement of line replaceable units; Experience solving complex problems by analyzing installation, circuitry, and operating characteristics of the systems; Experience adjusting and aligning system sensors, transmitters, amplifiers, power supplies, display devices, controls, transponders, actuators, servos, computers and other related components. ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-13: Must have at least at least 12 months of specialized experiences working as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-12 and have at least18 months of specialized experience reviewing and analyzing maintenance data; Experience determining if criteria is sufficient to provide adequate test, troubleshooting and repair procedures; Experience devising and recommending tests, procedural changes, or data corrections; Experience monitoring the operations of complex, inter-related systems, analyzing operating trends, and proposing preventative maintenance down time; Experience performing alignments, adjustments, and conducting final calibrations on integrated systems to determine successful repairs.??????? TRAINEE POSITION: Applicants not meeting full qualifications for the WG-12 position indicated above may be considered for WG-13 trainee, if qualified. Statement-of-Difference of qualification requirements for each are indicated. If appointed as trainee, the selectee may be non-competitively promoted to WG-13 upon meeting full qualifications and recommendations of supervisor.
