This role will work closely with the engineering teams to integrate BMS, PCS, and EMS controls into a cohesive platform that supports reliable energy delivery.

Responsibilities

Design and develop control system architectures for BESS, including battery management system (BMS) integration, energy management system (EMS) logic, and power conversion system (PCS) controls

Create control algorithms for charge/discharge cycles, state‑of‑charge (SOC) balancing, and grid support functions (e.g., frequency regulation, voltage support).

Develop PLC, SCADA, and HMI logic tailored to energy storage applications

Model and simulate system behavior using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink to validate control strategies under various grid and environmental conditions.

Collaborate with electronics engineering, software engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of control hardware, sensors, and communication networks.

Support commissioning and field deployment, including troubleshooting control logic, tuning system parameters, and validating performance on live systems.

Ensure that designs comply with safety standards such as UL 9540, UL 1741, NFPA 855, and IEEE grid interconnection requirements.

Develop technical documentation, including control narratives, functional design specifications, test procedures, and system architecture diagrams.

Continuously improve system performance by implementing advanced control strategies, predictive analytics, and optimization techniques
