A Day in the Life
This Director of Delivery Systems and Catheter Engineering leads end to end engineering execution for delivery system development across the CRM portfolio within the Electrophysiology Therapies Operating Unit. This role focuses on predictable, high quality development of complex delivery platforms, partnering closely with therapy aligned product development leaders to drive disciplined execution, technical excellence and talent development.
This role reports to the VP CRM Product Development and leads a global team and is responsible for ensuring alignment, integration, and collective delivery of new product development (NPD) and post market programs across all CRM therapy groups driving portfolio execution, technical rigor, and enterprise outcomes beyond individual team boundaries.

A Day in The Life:
- Lead global Delivery Systems and Catheter Engineering teams responsible for design, development, verification, validation, and sustaining engineering for delivery platforms
- Create, direct, and manage product development strategy for CRM Delivery Systems and Catheters and executing objectives in line with Medtronic and CRM goals
- Drive identification of novel delivery system solutions including new materials, designs, and approaches
- Drive execution excellence across new product development programs, ensuring predictable delivery of scope, quality, and timelines, leveraging DRM methodologies
- Strategically engage with internal and external suppliers to ensure alignment to product development roadmap, accelerate innovation, and improve technological capabilities
- Partner with Product Development Leads to translate portfolio strategy into disciplined delivery execution
- Develop and standardize delivery engineering processes, tools, and technical standards across EP Therapies
- Build strong technical and leadership capability within Delivery Systems and Catheter Engineering team, including succession and engagement
- Ensure compliance with design controls, quality systems, and regulatory expectations
- Represent Delivery System and Catheter Engineering with senior executives and external partners including physicians and suppliers, serving as a credible technical and people leader
- Explore and manage collaboration opportunities across the product development organizations
Key Skills & Experience
- Requires a level 8 degree and minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in regulated product development with 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum 8 year’s engineering experience, minimum of 7 years of managerial experience in regulated product development
- Strong background in delivery system or catheter-based device development
- Proven ability to lead large matrixed global teams and deliver complex programs
- Passion for execution rigor, talent development, and continuous improvement

The final salary within this range will be determined based on objective, job-related criteria, including relevant experience, skills and qualifications, in accordance with our compensation framework.
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
