Summary
You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Engineering Department of FWD DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET ROTA.
Duties
- You will manage the interaction of the Integrated Test Plan (ITP) with the Integrated Production Schedule (IPS).
- You will evaluate results of Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) for completed test procedures, check points, and required reports from all maintenance activities, and document, resolve and adjudicate non-conformances.
- You will serve as the government representative on Total Ship Testing Task Group (TSTTG).
- You will collect scheduling and testing information from all non-Lead Maintenance Activities (LMAs).
- You will coordinate testing schedule and major training evolution schedule information.
- You will ensure availability of special instrumentation, recording devices, support services, test ranges, and data collection requirements to support sea trial events.
- You will investigate problems which could not be resolved, brief the personnel involved and provide guidance to resolve the problem.
- You will communicate technical information with senior engineers, technicians, project managers, and maintenance team personnel.
- You will work aboard naval vessels at berths in varying weather conditions.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Develop integrated test plans and schedules with project engineers, test site personnel, and other organizations involved in the shipboard test events to prove system integrity and sea trial readiness; 2) Interpret and apply ship overhaul and building specifications and requirements pertaining to design, maintenance, safety and operation of assigned equipment and systems; 3) Provide technical support to contractors' shipboard testing work, deliverables and integrated production schedule for compliance and quality; 4) Review Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) and Combat Systems test procedures before and after completion of testing and work certification; and 5) Use qualitative and quantitative techniques to develop and manage new or modified integrated test plans sufficient to serve as a resident expert on ship testing.
