Facility Operations Specialist

Summary

About the Position: Serves as Maintenance Control Specialist for a lock and dam supporting major multipurpose water resource projects that may include power generation, navigation locks, visitor centers, natural resources and recreation features, or other appurtenant elements.

Duties

• •Complete record data as necessary and establish proper asset/equipment hierarchy within the Computerized Maintenance Management systems (CMMS).
• •Serve as the Project point of contact for equipment transfers, and identifies newly acquired equipment and places in proper project equipment hierarchy.
• •Organize, compile all pertinent information, for each piece of equipment into the maintenance system.
• •Utilize the control system to issue and schedule routine and cyclic maintenance, repair and replacement of all equipment
• •Account for data and status changes on all Work Orders.
• •Obtain information from project supervisors and work leaders that could affect schedules and/or future workload adjustments.

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing maintenance work in a maintenance program for multipurpose water resource projects that may include power generation, navigation locks, flood control, visitor centers, natural resources and recreation features; using a computerized management system to record data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grad/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (of equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
