Position Summary : Banks Construction is seeking a Field Heavy Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment and diesel trucks in the field. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to minimizing downtime and keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do:

• •Travel to job sites to perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance
• •Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
• •Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment and trucks
• •Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes
• •Complete service reports and document repairs performed
• •Communicate with operators and supervisors regarding equipment issues and repair timelines
• •Maintain service truck inventory, tools, and equipment
• •Follow all company safety procedures and policies

Typical Equipment Worked On:

• •Excavators
• •Dozers
• •Loaders
• •Asphalt pavers
• •Skid steers
• •Dump trucks & tractor-trailers

Qualifications:

• •3+ years of experience working on heavy equipment and/or diesel trucks preferred
• •Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical troubleshooting
• •Ability to troubleshoot independently in the field
• •Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• •Must own basic mechanic tools (specialty tools may be provided by company)
• •Welding/fabrication experience is a plus
• •OEM certifications or training are a plus

Work Environment: This position is primarily field-based and includes exposure to dirt, grease, noise, weather, and construction job site conditions.
