Field Survey Technician

Description

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Technician to join our team. This position will assist Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD production, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparation, legal description, and computing survey points.

Requirements

• •Assisting Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD production, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparation, legal description, and computing survey points
• •Processing of raw field data through Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D
• •Perform QA/QC checks
• •Coordinate and work with field crews and other office staff
• •Ensures division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
• •Lead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.

Required Experience:

• •Strong listening, writing and verbal communication skills.
• •Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, preparation of easement documents, legal descriptions, final plat preparation, construction staking
• •Ability to operate AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center for production activities.
• •Ability to manage multiple tasks, support project coordination, and interact with other design services.
• •Full use of Microsoft Office.
• •Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment that is in a growth mode.

Preferred Experience

• •An Associate Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study
• •SIT Certification
• •Land Development, both Commercial and Residential, and Public Infrastructure Projects
• •Coordinating activities with office personnel, including surveying technicians and engineering staff
• •Experience searching for/recovering Public Land Survey System monuments
• •Ability to travel and remain on a project site or other Westwood office for extended periods (must have the capability of self-funding the total amount of expenses until reimbursement can be disbursed) Processing and drafting utilizing LiDAR point clouds and imagery
• •TBC Scanning Module preferred
• •MicroStation experience preferred
• •Ability to utilize survey field equipment is preferred.
• •FAA Part 107 UAS License
