About Orcrist Technologies
Orcrist is building a next generation data intelligence platform using cutting-edge technologies. We're handling petabyte-scale data with sub-second queries. Our product (OIP) is a Kubernetes‑based platform delivered as B2B SaaS or as a self‑hosted/on‑prem solution, including air‑gapped deployments.
The Role
Orcrist operates as a fully remote-first group across three locations, which means physical infrastructure isn't centralized in one office; it's distributed across company sites, and apartments/residences that need technical and physical setup (network hardware, locks, alarm systems, access control). This role owns the "boots on the ground" side of physical technology; the person who shows up, installs, fixes, and secures premises, rather than the person who designs policy.
What You'll Do
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot physical technology across company locations and employee apartments/residences (network hardware, access control systems, alarm systems, CCTV/surveillance where in scope, locks and physical hardening measures)
Conduct security assessments of apartments/residences used for company purposes and implement corrective measures (secure locks, window/door hardening, alarm installation)
Manage IT/AV hardware lifecycle at physical sites: setup, repairs, replacements, decommissioning
Travel to sites across Germany and in Marbella on short notice to resolve urgent physical/technical issues
Maintain an inventory of physical security and technical equipment across all sites and residences
Coordinate with local vendors/contractors (locksmiths, alarm companies, ISPs) where work needs to be outsourced
Document all installations, repairs, and security upgrades for audit purposes
Serve as the first point of contact for physical technology emergencies (e.g., break-in, hardware failure, alarm malfunction) — including outside standard hours when needed
About You
3+ years Hands-on experience installing/maintaining physical technology (network hardware, alarm systems, access control, locks) — not just IT helpdesk background
Valid driver's license
Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including short-notice trips (80%+)
Proven ability to work independently and make judgment calls without daily supervision
Fluent in German and working proficiency in English
What We Offer
International team with colleagues across Germany and other locations.
Startup environment with real ownership, flat hierarchies, and fast decisions.
Competitive compensation aligned with experience and responsibility.
Individual learning and growth opportunities beyond your role.
