About the role:
PwC’s Business Partnering teams provide financial insight, challenge and decision support to business leadership, helping drive performance, commercial discipline and effective decision-making.
The Strategic Finance Senior Manager sits within the FP&A function and provides forward-looking financial insight to support strategic decisions for a Line of Service or major business area. The role helps leadership understand the financial implications of strategic choices, including growth opportunities, investment decisions, performance improvement actions and cross-functional LoS initiatives.
The role leads scenario analysis, option appraisal, investment case development and benefits tracking, ensuring decisions are grounded in robust financial analysis and aligned to LoS, firmwide and Finance priorities. It works closely across Finance teams and with business stakeholders to bring together the right financial, commercial and operational insight.
What your days will look like:
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, partnering with senior business leaders to provide strategic financial guidance, challenge and support across a complex and fast-paced business environment.
- Deliver commercial insight through robust financial analysis, reporting and performance management, enabling informed decision-making and driving sustainable business growth.
- Oversee the financial management of a significant portfolio, including forecasting, revenue recognition, cash flow, risk management and valuation of work in progress.
- Drive continuous improvement and change initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support planning, maximise return on investment and strengthen operational and financial performance.
This role is for you if:
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent) with strong technical expertise and the ability to apply financial knowledge in a commercial environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into clear business recommendations.
- Commercially minded and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset and a track record of driving positive business outcomes.
- Skilled at building trusted relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels through collaboration, credibility and sound judgement.
- Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills, able to present financial information clearly and engage diverse audiences with confidence and empathy.
- Technology-enabled and adaptable, with advanced Excel capabilities, enthusiasm for emerging technologies and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
What you’ll receive from us:
