Finance Transformation, Accounting Advisory Manager

Position Overview

The Finance Transformation, Accounting Advisory Manager is responsible for leading and delivering client engagements focused on improving finance operations, enhancing business processes, and supporting finance transformation initiatives. This role works directly with client stakeholders and engagement teams to assess current-state processes, develop practical solutions, and implement improvements that drive operational effectiveness and business value.

The Manager plays a key role in project execution, client service, and team leadership while serving as a trusted advisor to finance organizations. This position is highly hands-on and requires strong project management, problem-solving, and finance transformation experience.

Key Responsibilities

Client Delivery & Project Execution

  • Lead day-to-day execution of finance transformation and accounting advisory engagements.
  • Manage project workplans, budgets, timelines, deliverables, and client expectations.
  • Conduct assessments of finance operations, processes, controls, and organizational structures.
  • Analyze current-state finance processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.
  • Support transformation initiatives across key finance functions, including:
  • Lead-to-Cash
  • Source-to-Pay
  • Record-to-Report
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Other functions within the Office of the CFO
  • Develop recommendations, process improvements, and implementation roadmaps based on client needs and objectives.
  • Facilitate client workshops, process-mapping sessions, and stakeholder interviews.
  • Assist clients with process redesign, operating model improvements, and technology-enabled transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with technology, risk, tax, audit, and other advisory teams to support integrated client solutions.
  • Identify project risks and issues and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful engagement outcomes.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build strong working relationships with client management and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for client teams throughout engagement delivery.
  • Provide regular project updates and communicate progress, risks, and key decisions to client leadership.
  • Deliver high-quality client service while ensuring projects meet scope, budget, and timeline expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance client value and communicate potential needs to engagement leadership.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and mentor Senior Associates, Associates, and Consultants across engagement teams.
  • Delegate responsibilities and provide coaching, technical guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Review work products to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Support team development through knowledge sharing, training, and mentorship.
  • Assist with engagement staffing and resource coordination across multiple projects.

Practice Support

  • Contribute to the development of methodologies, tools, templates, and best practices that support engagement delivery.
  • Assist with proposal development, presentations, and client pursuits as needed.
  • Participate in internal initiatives aimed at enhancing service offerings and improving delivery capabilities.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, finance transformation methodologies, and leading practices.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • CPA, MBA, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in public accounting, consulting, finance transformation, accounting advisory, or a combination of consulting and industry finance experience.
  • Experience leading workstreams or managing project teams within finance transformation, accounting advisory, or business process improvement engagements.
  • Strong knowledge of finance and accounting processes, including:
  • Lead-to-Cash
  • Source-to-Pay
  • Record-to-Report
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Experience conducting operational and financial assessments and developing actionable solutions.
  • Understanding of finance operating models, process improvement methodologies, and transformation frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, automation platforms, and data analytics solutions.
  • Strong project management, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality client service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed, approximately 25-40%.

The salary range for this position is included below. Individual salaries within this range are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education, knowledge, skills, and geographic location. Pay Range:

Pay From: $106,900 to $171,00
