Summary

Duties

  • You will perform analyses and support functions in the preparation of budget estimates and financial plans that advance organizational programs and activities.
  • You will review budget submissions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established regulations and guidance.
  • You will ensure that all actions are documented and traceable to support future audits and reviews.
  • You will prepare timely, accurate, and audit ready financial reports reflecting the status of organizational resources.
  • You will manage tasks related to accounting systems, payroll operations, cash control, and benefit programs.
  • You will compile, evaluate, and analyze financial data to support program evaluations, audit readiness, and management decision-making.
  • You will identify trends, discrepancies, and performance issues affecting financial operations, resource utilization, and overall program effectiveness.

Qualifications

GS- 09: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing budget formulation and execution reviews; Conducting financial data analysis and trend evaluations; Ensuring audit readiness, accuracy, and documentation control; Using financial management systems and supporting data integrity efforts. GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical support for accounting, budget formulation, financial reporting, and program evaluation. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-9: Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or Successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or Successfully completed an LL.B. or J.D., if related GS-7: Successfully completed 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement
