We are seeking a highly organised, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented Flight Operations Officer to join our dynamic aviation team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting safe, efficient, and compliant flight operations through effective flight planning, operational control, and real-time flight monitoring.
This position requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and can confidently manage multiple priorities while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, coordinate, and monitor operational flight plans in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Collect, interpret, monitor, and disseminate weather and aeronautical information to support safe and efficient flight operations.
Conduct flight planning calculations, including fuel requirements, aircraft performance, routing, and operational limitations.
Prepare and issue dispatch releases, crew briefing packs, and associated operational documentation.
Arrange and coordinate overflight permits, landing permits, airport slots, customs clearances, and related operational approvals.
Provide flight crews with accurate operational updates regarding weather conditions, airfield status, communication facilities, and en-route changes.
Monitor flights in progress (Flight Watch) in accordance with SACAA regulations and company operational procedures.
Ensure all operational records and documentation are maintained accurately and filed in compliance with SACAA and company requirements.
Support operational decision-making to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient dispatch of all flights.
Maintain compliance with the Company Operations Manual, SACARS, SACATS, EASA, IOSA and all other applicable aviation regulations and standards.
Minimum Requirements
National Senior Certificate (Matric).
FOO Certificate
Previous experience in flight operations, dispatch, or aviation operations control.
Strong working knowledge of aviation operational procedures and regulatory requirements.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and operational systems.
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Valid South African driver’s licence.
South African citizen or legally eligible to work in South Africa.

Attention to Detail – Strong focus on accuracy when preparing flight plans, operational documentation, permits, and compliance-related records.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills – Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with flight crew, operational departments, service providers, and stakeholders.
Resilience & Pressure Management – Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and effective while managing multiple priorities and responding to changing operational demands.
