Summary:

The Food Service Trainer drives operational excellence across foodservice programs within Toot’n Totum convenience stores. This role is responsible for developing and coaching Food Managers and Deli Team Members to ensure consistent execution of food production, food safety, inventory control, waste management, and sales growth initiatives. The Food Service Trainer supports new store openings, prepares teams for successful day-to-day operations, and provides in-store leadership support when needed to maintain performance standards and brand consistency.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct ongoing training sessions with Store Food Managers and Deli Team Members in areas including food preparation, food safety guidelines, product presentation, food service area cleanliness standards, product ordering, product date/time requirements, waste management, and product date rotation.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure Brand Standards are met in areas of merchandising, food quality, SOP adherence, health and safety guidelines and practices, and store organization and cleanliness.
  • Ensure all Food and Beverage areas within visited locations are in compliance with relevant health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Assist the Food Service Division Manager with the creation, presentation, implementation, and Brand Standards compliance verifcations of new and existing menu items across all areas in the Food Services Division.
  • Actively engage with Guests while in locations to explain new and existing menu items with the stated goal of educating Guests on our products and driving sales growth.
  • Promote a Guest-centric approach within the Food Service Division emphasizing the importance of Guest Satisfaction and Creating Experiences Worth Repeating.
  • Identify training opportunities and areas for improvement within the Food Services Division by gathering feedback from Food Managers, Deli Team Members, Store Managers, and Operations District Managers.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of Food Managers and Deli Team Members after training, providing feedback and coaching to ensure knowledge retention and skill application. Report evaluations to the relevant Store Manager, Operations District Manager, and Food Service Division Manager.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in the food and beverage industry.
  • Support and facilitate organizational changes, continuous improvement and communication.

  • 25% Travel is required; day travel on a regular basis, overnight travel on occasion.
  • Holidays, irregular hours and weekends will be required according to the needs of the business.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Food Handlers certification

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2-5 years of experience in food service preferred.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk/hear, push/pull, climb, bend/stoop, crouch/kneel/crawl, taste/smell, balance, twist/reach, carry, grasp with hands, squat, drive and use keyboard. Lifting Requirements: Lift/pull up to 50lbs daily and up to 100lbs on occasion.Hearing Requirements: Ability to hear alarms, communication equipment, verbal instructions, & machineryCognitive Requirements: Basic reading, writing and math skills.
