Summary

About the Position: This position serves as a Foreign Assistance Specialist for the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 5 years and cannot be made permanent. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of 6 years. Duties

  • Analyze and prepare cost estimates associated with the conduct of training.
  • Direct the development, management, execution and support of comprehensive worldwide U.S. Army Security Assistance Training Programs.
  • Track project transactions within each phased and scheduled plan of activities to meet projected completion dates.
  • Identify and coordinates each administrative support element, e.g., TDY Orders, passports, housing facilities, transportation needs, etc. to accommodate training.
  • Attend meetings, briefings, working sessions, in-progress reviews (IPRs) and other sessions of an informal or formal nature.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Preparing cost estimates, pricing data, or financial requirements associated with training friendly foreign countries and/or allied nations; 2) Allocating training resources, managing student administrative requirements, or assisting in the development of training-related provisions for legal contracts or international agreements; AND 3) Formulating, coordinating, or evaluating training plans and schedules that identify specific military or technical instruction requirements for foreign nationals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
