Description
Company Description
SCA Pharmaceuticals is a dynamic rapidly growing company consisting of passionate individuals who believe in our mission of providing high quality medications that are critical in saving and sustaining human life. SCA Pharma is an FDA 503B outsourcing facility providing customized medications for hospitals and healthcare facilities across the United States. We do this through unyielding quality, safety and integrity, our commitment to accountability and ownership, teamwork and creating better solutions by simplifying the complex.
Summary:
The Full Stack Developer will architect, build, and support applications, integrations, and automations within our core enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform (Sage X3) and as standalone hybrid web apps. Working as a hands-on contributor on a small, collaborative IT team, this role partners directly with business users across manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and commercial operations to understand their workflows, recommend process improvements, and deliver practical digital solutions that drive efficiency and measurable business impact. The developer owns solutions through the full lifecycle — from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support — in an FDA-regulated (cGMP) environment.
Essential functions:
- Partner with business users to gather requirements, map current and future-state business process workflows, and recommend improvements before designing technical solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain hybrid web applications and internal tools that automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Configure, customize, and support the Sage X3 ERP system, including screens, reports, workflows, and data integrations.
- Build and maintain system integrations and APIs (REST/JSON and SOAP/XML) between Sage X3 and other business systems.
- Develop and support related business applications including Doclink, BarTender (labeling), Crystal Reports, and Salesforce.
- Design and maintain relational data models, SQL queries, and reports supporting web and business applications.
- Manage code through source control and CI/CD pipelines; deploy and support applications in Linux/container environments.
- Follow software development lifecycle (SDLC), change control, and documentation practices, supporting computer system validation (CSV) and data integrity requirements for GxP-relevant systems.
- Provide production support: triage, troubleshoot, and resolve tickets and enhancement requests within agreed service levels.
- Identify opportunities to apply automation, analytics, and AI responsibly to improve productivity, and measure the impact of delivered solutions.
- Create clear technical and end-user documentation and train users on new tools and processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of hands-on full stack software development experience, preferably within a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or other regulated environment.
- Proficiency in Java (Spring / Spring Boot), JavaScript (ES6+; jQuery for legacy apps), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Strong SQL and relational database skills (MySQL or similar), including data modeling and query tuning.
- Experience building and consuming APIs: REST using HTTP/JSON and SOAP using XML.
- Working knowledge of Git source control, Jenkins/Maven CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and basic Linux CLI administration with Nginx.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP software, preferably Sage X3 or similar.
- Experience with Agile development practices and handling tickets and story cards in JIRA or similar tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with business users, translate business process needs into technical requirements, and deliver solutions end-to-end in a small team setting.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Sage X3 development experience (4GL scripting, customization, web services).
- Knowledge or familiarity of GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP 5, computer system validation (CSV), and ALCOA+ data integrity principles.
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) and TypeScript.
- Experience with Java or Node.js for scripting, automation, and integrations.
- Experience working safely and effectively with LLM and Generative AI tools, including AI-assisted coding (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
- Familiarity with EDI and X12 transactions.
- Experience with Salesforce development (Apex, Flows), BarTender label design, Doclink, or Crystal Reports.
- Familiarity with automated testing, application security (OWASP), and access management practices.
- Project management proficiency, including scoping, planning, requirements gathering, business process mapping, and end-to-end process management.
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for creating impact through digital solutions and driving efficiencies.
- Outstanding organizational, time management, communication, and listening skills; exceptional interpersonal, decision-making, and analytical abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
