POSITION OVERVIEW
The Functional Safety Manager is a specialist responsible for managing all Functional Safety engineering activities for any assigned program.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Deliver aligned Functional Safety Manager plans & progress for GENTEX projects, which is accomplished by:
- Identifying, planning & scheduling all Functional Safety Manager tasks for existing and new programs.
- Aligning and documenting the strategy on how planned Functional Safety Manager activities will be executed.
- Defining and tracking valuable Functional Safety Manager KPIs for assigned programs.
- Perform proactive communication, interpretation, documentation & delegation, which is accomplished by:
- Identifying and managing program stakeholders for the planned FS activities.
- Delegating the planned activities to other team members.
Other duties as assigned.

- Maintaining a high level of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality with respect to company matters.
- Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
WHAT TO BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity or information security roles.
- Comprehension of TIER 1 and OEM PS&S-relevant processes and standards.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as necessary.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
WHAT WILL HELP
- Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH).
- Familiarity with Functional Safety frameworks (e.g., ISO26262, ISO27001).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
