About the role
Team Global Express is seeking a General Manager, Sales – NSW to join our Commercial team. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving business growth, strengthening customer relationships and leading a high-performing sales function across New South Wales. Working closely with internal stakeholders and customers, you will develop and execute commercial strategies that support business objectives, deliver value for customers and contribute to sustainable growth.
You will play a key role in identifying opportunities, building strong partnerships and ensuring the successful delivery of commercial outcomes. This role requires a strategic and collaborative leader who can motivate teams, foster strong stakeholder relationships and drive a culture focused on performance, customer service and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the NSW Sales function, providing strategic direction, leadership and support to achieve business and commercial objectives.
- Develop and implement sales strategies that support customer growth, retention and new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, understanding their needs and identifying opportunities to strengthen partnerships.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, supporting the continued growth and development of the customer portfolio.
- Work collaboratively with teams across the broader business to develop solutions that meet customer requirements and deliver sustainable commercial outcomes.
- Provide commercial leadership across customer opportunities, negotiations and business development initiatives.
- Monitor sales and commercial performance, using insights and market information to identify opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Lead sales planning, forecasting and performance management activities to support business objectives.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of market conditions, customer expectations and industry trends to inform commercial strategies.
- Coach, develop and empower team members, building capability and supporting a high-performing and accountable sales culture.
- Foster collaboration across the business and ensure a consistent customer-focused approach to sales and commercial activities.
- Drive continuous improvement across sales processes, ways of working and customer engagement.
- Represent Team Global Express professionally with customers, industry stakeholders and internal leadership teams.
What you'll bring
- Demonstrated experience in a senior sales, commercial or business leadership role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage, develop and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Sound commercial acumen and the ability to identify and deliver growth opportunities.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- A customer-focused approach and a commitment to delivering positive outcomes.
- The ability to influence, collaborate and build effective working relationships across all levels of an organisation.
- Relevant experience within a commercial, logistics, transport, supply chain or related environment will be highly regarded.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and significant experience in sales and senior management.
