Who are we:

Raptee.HV is a full-stack electric motorcycle startup with a very strong technical moat, founded in 2019 by four engineers from Chennai (Ex Tesla, Wipro), working on bringing a no-compromise upgrade motorcycle to an otherwise scooter-only EV market. Raptee is incubated at CIIC & ARAI.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Government Relations Intern to join our operations team. You will be responsible for supporting Raptee's engagement with government departments, regulatory bodies, and industry associations, tracking relevant policies and schemes, and helping prepare government-facing documentation. This role involves close coordination with government officials, industry bodies, and internal teams to help Raptee navigate the regulatory and policy landscape effectively.

What You'll Do:

  • Support Raptee in building and maintaining relationships with government departments, officials, regulatory bodies and industry associations.
  • Research and track EV, automotive, mobility, manufacturing and startup policies, regulations, schemes, incentives and government initiatives.
  • Identify relevant government opportunities, programmes, partnerships and incentives that can support Raptee's business and growth.
  • Coordinate meetings, official visits, submissions and follow-ups, ensuring action points are tracked and closed on time.
  • Prepare briefing notes, presentations, letters, reports and other government-facing documents, along with research required for official meetings.
  • Represent Raptee professionally during government meetings, events, forums and stakeholder interactions, while coordinating with internal teams to ensure smooth communication.
  • Maintain stakeholder databases, engagement trackers and regular reports, and support other government-relations initiatives as required by the business.

Who Can Apply?

  • Diploma or pursuing/completed Degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Policy Knowledge: Basic understanding of government processes, policy-making, and regulatory frameworks, particularly around EV/automotive or manufacturing sectors.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to draft briefing notes, letters, and reports, and to represent Raptee professionally in meetings.
  • Research Skills: Ability to research and synthesize information on policies, schemes, and government initiatives accurately and efficiently.
  • MS Office: Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel for document and presentation preparation.
  • Coordination Skills: Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, track action items, and follow through on time-sensitive submissions.
  • Documentation: Good organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate stakeholder databases and engagement records.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time-sensitive government interactions.

Good To Haves:

  • Fresher to 6 months of relevant experience in government relations, public policy, public affairs, or related fields.
  • Experience or academic project work involving interaction with government departments, regulatory bodies, or industry associations.
  • Basic knowledge of central/state government incentive schemes for EV or startups.
  • Prior internship or project experience in public policy, government relations, or corporate affairs.

What's In It for You:

  • Opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic electric vehicle startup environment.
  • Hands-on exposure to real-world government relations and public policy engagement.
  • Opportunity to interact directly with government officials, regulatory bodies, and industry associations.
  • Exposure to policy research, incentive schemes, and government-facing documentation.
  • Gain practical experience representing a startup in official meetings and forums.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Finance, and Engineering.
  • Opportunities for professional growth as the company undergoes expansion.
  • A collaborative environment that encourages ownership, learning, and problem-solving.
