About the role:
POSITION SUMMARY
Build a strong foundation in restructuring, insolvency and advisory work by supporting a diverse range of corporate and personal engagements. Working with experienced professionals, you will develop practical commercial, financial and investigative skills while helping clients and stakeholders navigate complex and often time-critical situations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support a varied portfolio of corporate and personal insolvency, restructuring and advisory engagements under the guidance of experienced team members.
- Conduct investigations by reviewing books and records, analysing financial information, tracing transactions and identifying key issues.
- Assist with trading, asset realisation and operational work, including liaising with employees, creditors, clients and other stakeholders.
- Prepare clear correspondence, working papers and reports for clients, creditors, courts, regulators and other stakeholders.
- Assist with statutory and regulatory compliance, including BAS and tax lodgements, ASIC notices, ASIC Administration Returns.
- Maintain accurate engagement records and information in relevant systems, applying sound judgement, confidentiality and attention to detail.
- Collaborate with colleagues and specialists across RSM, contributing ideas and building commercial and technical capability through hands-on experience.
About you:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Essential
- A completed or near-completed Business or Commerce degree, preferably with an Accounting major
- A completed or near-completed Law degree with an interest in restructuring and insolvency
Desirable
An interest in corporations law, business operations or restructuring
DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES:
Essential
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Curiosity, initiative and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- A practical, solutions-focused mindset and willingness to learn
- Confidence working with numbers, data and digital tools
- Professional judgement, integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information
