About the Position: This position is located at Eglin Air Force Base, FL. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

Duties

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert and administrator responsible for organizing and facilitating the Credentials Program through the Joint Commission guidelines.
  • Enter information on all privileged providers into a Healthcare System and ensure accuracy and completeness of all data entries related to credentials files and automated credentials databases.
  • Review all incoming Provider Credentials Files and their applications for medical staff membership and clinical privileges.
  • Conduct Primary Source Verification of the authenticity of the documents provided to include qualifying degrees, diplomas, specialty board and fellowship certificates and other required contingencies.
  • Obtain verification for ten years prior to initial application of the provider's complete malpractice history and coverage.
  • Prepare and collect Focused or Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation data and maintain in the providers in the provider's Centralized Credentials Quality Assurance System (CCQAS) file.
  • Analyze problems related to the Credentials Program and presents both written and oral recommendations through appropriate Chain of Command.
  • Serve as the DHA Liaison between the DHA Credentials Office, other military hospitals and the civilian community.
  • Interpret and analyze regulations, directives and policies relevant to the privileging ad reappointment process.
  • Prepare and coordinate al required documentation for adverse actions and submits report to DHA as required by regulation.
  • Utilize a computer to develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets, ad hoc reports, documents, graphs and briefiing slides.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Health System Specialist (Credentials) GS-09: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with a credentialing and privileging program; utilizing automated systems to develop and maintain documents; and preparing briefings for leadership. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Centralized Credentials Quality Assurance System (CCQAS) experience highly desired.
