Heavy Equipment Technician

Responsible for repairs and maintenance on large construction equipment.

Pay: $32 - $45 an hour.

The typical DAY shift is Monday-Friday (Saturdays as needed) 7am-3:30pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

• •Diagnosis and repair transmissions, engines, differentials, electrical and hydraulic components associated with heavy construction equipment in a field environment.
• •Utilize a laptop computer for information and diagnostic purposes for the safe assembly and disassembly of components.
• •Write and complete service reports.
• •Participate in company training programs.
• •Perform other duties as assigned.
• •This position is focusing on Heavy equipment, this will also include trucks, trailers and small construction equipment as needed.

Education and Experience:

• •Two-year technical degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, or similar preferred.
• •5+ years’ experience preferred

Skills and Abilities:

• •Use hand tools, air tools, test equipment, powered shop tools, and overhead crane.
• •Operation of a variety of types of equipment
• •Diagnosis and repair of diesel engines
• •Maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of equipment electrical systems
• •Diagnose and repair aftertreatment systems
• •Hydraulic troubleshooting
• •Use of hydraulic and electrical schematics
• •Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment.
• •Crane knowledge a plus
• •Ability to properly document work completed
• •Desire to take on new challenges
• •Willingness to work on a variety of equipment in both the shop and field environment
