At SEH, you’ll lead Wisconsin DOT design projects, mentor junior engineers, and take ownership as an internal project manager—all while building a long‑term career in Southeast Wisconsin. This Opportunity:

Planning, developing, coordinating, and directing multiple projects for a variety of clients

Maintaining close relationships with clients throughout development of projects and after completion

Managing, mentoring, and working with staff as needed to provide a positive team environment

Maintaining an understanding of relevant regulatory programs, funding requirements, design standards and procedures through active participation in continuing education programs and professional associations

Representing SEH with agencies at project and public meetings

Prepare project approaches, scopes and fees required to complete projects

Present proposals to clients, interview for projects, and select project teams

Being an internal project manager and determining major project design decisions in conjunction with client

Performing complex design calculations

Checking accuracy of completed work and being responsible for ensuring QA/QC procedures are followed

This opportunity is open to candidate s residing in the following areas: Pewaukee, WI is preferred but open to anywhere in Wisconsin

Essential Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field

Licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin or ability to obtain within six (6) months

Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, business development excursions, on-site inspections/visits, occasional overnight travel may be required

Strong ability to work in a team environment

Experience in highway design and construction of WisDOT projects

Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills

Design experience in any of these; AutoCAD/Civil 3D

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of five (5) years design experience

Supervisory and/or mentoring experience in the related field

Active participation in professional organizations, conferences and technical publications

Previous experience with a Civil Engineering Consulting firm doing design

Design experience in any of these; Microstation/GeoPak/ORD (Open Roads Designer)

Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $90,000 and $110,000 based on skill set and experience. Check out our full benefits package at SEH Hiring Journey .
