The Human Resource Generalist will assist with the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Reviews, tracks, and documents all payroll request to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

In collaboration with Company Recruiter, assist with interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.

Support HR Coordinator’s efforts to maintain efficient onboarding practices; identify and recommend updates to current HR software, systems and procedures.

Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, e-filing systems and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, lift, push, pull, stoop, or bend. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours can change at the discretion of the HR Director; though typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some weekend and evening hours will be necessary to accommodate any issues that might arise.

Travel

This position requires 5% travel time.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent in work experience.

4 years of Payroll processing experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

5+ years of experience in human resources administration.

SHRM-CP or SHRMs Specialty Credential.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Must be 19 years of age or older.

All potential new hires will be subjected to a pre-employment background and motor vehicle check and drug screen.

To perform essential job duties, all potential new hires must be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to Super-Sod insurance guidelines :

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

No major safety and moving violations reported on MVR within the past (3) years.

Major violations include but are not limited to:

Felony convictions

Automobile insurance canceled or not renewed by an insurance company due to excessive tickets, accidents, points, or fraud.

Convicted of alcohol or drug related offense while driving.

Convicted of three or more speeding violations or serious moving violations; moving violations include texting or cell phone violations.

Been involved in two or more chargeable accidents.

Hourly Pay Range

$25 — $30 USD
