Position Summary

The HSE Analyst supports the development, implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) programs. This role serves as a key partner in maintaining HSE management system processes, program governance, performance reporting, policy administration, compliance tracking, and organizational communications across multiple HSE disciplines, including occupational safety, transportation safety, environmental compliance, hazardous materials, fleet safety, and risk management initiatives.

The Analyst is responsible for maintaining program documentation, supporting governance processes, developing performance reporting and dashboards, coordinating compliance activities, and providing analytical support that enables effective program management and leadership decision-making. Through data analysis, performance measurement, management system administration, and cross-functional coordination, this role helps ensure HSE programs remain compliant, measurable, sustainable, and continuously improving.

This position supports the overall HSE Management System and program governance structure by driving consistency, accountability, visibility, and operational excellence across enterprise HSE initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

HSE Policy & Program Governance

  • Support development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise HSE policies, standards, procedures, and program documentation.
  • Maintain document control processes, governance records, review cycles, and revision schedules.
  • Coordinate recurring governance activities, management reviews, steering committees, and program review meetings.
  • Support administration of HSE management system requirements and governance frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain reporting calendars, compliance schedules, and program governance tools.
  • Ensure policies, standards, procedures, and supporting documents remain current and accessible.

Performance Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance HSE dashboards, scorecards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and performance metrics.
  • Analyze safety, environmental, transportation, compliance, and operational performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual HSE performance reports for operational and executive leadership.
  • Publish performance scorecards and track progress against strategic goals and targets.
  • Develop executive summaries and briefing materials that convert complex data into actionable insights.
  • Support benchmarking and performance measurement initiatives.

Compliance & Management Systems Support

  • Support implementation and administration of the HSE Management System across multiple programs and business units.
  • Maintain compliance tracking systems, corrective action databases, and audit management tools.
  • Monitor corrective actions, audit findings, assessments, and program commitments through closure.
  • Support preparation for internal audits, external audits, regulatory inspections, and management reviews.
  • Coordinate documentation and records required to demonstrate compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Track regulatory reporting requirements, permit obligations, and key compliance milestones.

Program Administration & Continuous Improvement

  • Coordinate cross-functional program initiatives and enterprise HSE projects.
  • Track project milestones, action items, deliverables, and improvement initiatives.
  • Support development and implementation of new processes, tools, and reporting capabilities.
  • Conduct process reviews and identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve program effectiveness.
  • Assist with annual planning, goal-setting processes, and strategic initiative tracking.

Communications, Training & Change Management

  • Develop communications, guidance documents, job aids, presentations, and awareness materials supporting HSE programs.
  • Support training administration, assignment tracking, and compliance reporting.
  • Coordinate updates to program materials and communication resources.
  • Maintain centralized repositories of HSE program resources and reference materials.
  • Assist in developing leadership updates and organizational communications promoting program awareness and accountability.

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Support

  • Collaborate with HSE leaders, Operations, Transportation, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Learning & Development, Risk Management, Legal, and other business partners.
  • Coordinate reporting inputs and information requests across multiple stakeholders.
  • Support enterprise initiatives through effective project coordination, communication, and follow-up.
  • Provide analytical and administrative support to HSE program owners and subject matter experts.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience supporting compliance, risk management, safety, environmental, quality, operational excellence, governance, or business programs.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, KPIs, scorecards, and business analytics.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Microsoft Office, and data management tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project coordination skills.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting corporate HSE, compliance, risk management, transportation safety, environmental, sustainability, or operational excellence programs.
  • Familiarity with management system frameworks such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar continuous improvement models.
  • Experience supporting audits, corrective action programs, compliance tracking, or governance processes.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Power Query, data visualization tools, and business intelligence platforms.
  • Experience preparing executive-level reports, presentations, and performance summaries.
  • Experience working within large, matrixed organizations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Analytics, Engineering, Supply Chain, Transportation, or a related field or equivalent experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$43,888.00 - $93,574.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
