The ideal HR Specialist is a person who can think through policies and practices, understand manager and employee implications, long-term effects on talent attraction and retention, employment costs and liabilities, then make good judgements, bring the right things to the right people's attention, take the right actions, and then follow-up and make recommendations and adjustments as needed. This applies even to administrative tasks, all of which either help us get 1% better or don't...

The job, the department, and the people are fun, but the reach and effects of everything done in HR impact the whole organization...
