HVAC Preventive Maintenance Technician

Position Title:

HVAC Preventive Maintenance Technician Job Description:

• Perform all duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor/Manager/Director.
• Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• •Identifies deficiencies and deviations from maintenance schedules and standards and performs regular Preventive Maintenance on various HVAC equipment.
• •Performs general repairs/maintenance.
• •Assists other HVAC tradesmen as directed.
• •May operate light or heavy equipment, and maintains equipment and tools.
• •Assists with snow removal as needed.
• •Other job-related duties as assigned.
• •Overtime may be required.

Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:

• •High school diploma or GED.
• •Ability to read, write and follow directions. Basic computer skills.
• •Intermediate to advanced knowledge of mechanical, Low Voltage electrical, heating/cooling and general repairs.
• •Must be familiar with and adhere to all the safety rules and regulations for the University Safety Policy which apply to the work environment.
• •Know how to Lockout/Tagout equipment.
• •Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

• •Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
• •Must be able to lift and carry heavy items up and down stairs.
• •Must be able to spend a significant amount of time outside in all weather conditions.
• •Be able to work off ladders and on roofs.
• •Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.

Salary/Benefits

Minimum Pay Rate: $24.00/hour
