Beal Law Firm, PLLC — Southlake, Texas
Full-Time | Entry Level | $14.00–$15.00 per hour + Excellent Benefits
Beal Law Firm is seeking an energetic, personable, and highly organized Intake & Administrative Assistant to join our Southlake office.
We are an established Family Law Firm with more than 30 years of experience helping people through divorce, custody disputes, and other difficult family-law matters. Our office is fast-paced, professional, and client-focused.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, communicates well, pays close attention to detail, and wants to gain meaningful experience in a professional law-office environment.
What You’ll Do
A major part of this position involves new-client intake . You will often be one of the first people a potential client speaks with when contacting our firm.
Many of the people who call us are going through one of the most stressful periods of their lives. We therefore need someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and who can combine empathy and patience with professionalism, accuracy, and good judgment.
Responsibilities may include:
Speaking with prospective clients by telephone and in person
Gathering and accurately documenting information regarding potential new cases
Scheduling consultations and following up with prospective clients
Answering and routing telephone calls
Greeting and assisting clients and visitors
Maintaining accurate electronic and paper records
Assisting attorneys and other staff with administrative projects
Assisting with basic legal-assistant or paralegal-related work as trained
Assisting with client communications and marketing projects
Helping with other office responsibilities as needed
This is a varied position. We are looking for someone who enjoys staying busy, learning new things, and helping wherever needed.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate:
Enjoys talking with and helping people
Has excellent telephone and interpersonal skills
Is friendly, confident, and professional
Has exceptional attention to detail
Communicates clearly and accurately
Is dependable and punctual
Takes initiative and does not need constant supervision
Can work independently and exercise sound judgment
Is comfortable working in a busy professional environment
Understands the importance of confidentiality
Can remain calm and professional when dealing with people under stress
Maintains a consistently professional appearance and demeanor
Is a self-starter who takes pride in doing excellent work
A background or interest in psychology, counseling, social work, communications, criminal justice, or another people-oriented field may be particularly helpful, but is not required.
Experience & Education
Legal experience is preferred but not required . We are willing to train the right person.
Office, reception, customer-service, or other professional experience is helpful but not required.
A bachelor’s degree, college coursework, or similar educational background is a plus, but not required.
We are more interested in finding someone who is bright, dependable, personable, hardworking, detail-oriented, and eager to learn than someone who simply checks boxes on a resume.
Schedule
The planned work schedule for this position is 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday .
Applicants should be comfortable with and specifically interested in working a later-than-traditional office schedule.
The position will generally require approximately 40–45 hours per week , and some flexibility may occasionally be needed depending upon client and firm needs. This may include arriving somewhat earlier, staying somewhat later, or adjusting hours from time to time.
Compensation
$14.00–$15.00 per hour , depending upon experience and qualifications.
Benefits
Although this is an entry-level position, Beal Law Firm offers a benefits package that is unusual for many entry-level jobs.
Benefits include:
100% employer-paid health insurance for the employee under a comprehensive health-insurance plan, beginning after approximately two months of employment

If you are smart, personable, hardworking, organized, genuinely enjoy helping people, and are comfortable with a 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. weekday schedule , we would like to hear from you.
