About the Role

As our Workplace Experience Specialist, you'll be the local face of IT in our Cairns office, delivering exceptional technology support that keeps our people connected, productive and supported every day.

This hands-on role combines IT support, workplace technology, user administration and continuous improvement. You'll provide support across devices, Microsoft 365, Teams, meeting room technology, onboarding and offboarding, while partnering with local stakeholders and BDO Australia's national IT teams to create a seamless digital workplace experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing face-to-face IT support across our North Queensland offices.
  • Supporting devices, Microsoft 365, Teams and meeting room technology.
  • Coordinating onboarding, offboarding and user administration.
  • Assisting with local technology projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Managing technology assets, documentation and governance requirements.
  • Supporting SharePoint, collaboration platforms and digital workplace solutions.
  • Driving adoption of new technologies, including AI and digital productivity tools.

What you will bring to our team

We’re looking for a passionate IT professional who enjoys solving problems, building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service. Whether you're nearing completion of your studies in Information Technology or a related discipline, or you've already gained hands-on experience supporting users in a professional environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Specific areas, systems and tools you will be working with include:

  • Experience providing face-to-face IT support within a corporate or professional services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows devices, Teams and workplace collaboration technologies.
  • Experience supporting device deployment, onboarding, offboarding and user administration activities.
  • Exposure to meeting room technology, audio-visual systems and hybrid meeting support.
  • Experience working with IT service management and ticketing systems, with an understanding of ITIL practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, networking and end-user technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support people at all levels of the business.
  • A proactive and customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, including maintaining accurate records, asset information and documentation.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across teams, stakeholders and vendors.
  • A passion for technology, continuous improvement, digital innovation and emerging tools such as AI.
