Job Description
Truckee Meadows Community College, located in Reno, NV, is seeking applicants for a Coordinator for the Jacobs Presidential Scholarship Program.
This position reports to the Assistant Director and is responsible for recruitment and retention of students for the Jacobs Presidential Scholars program. The goal of this position is to assist unemployed and underemployed adult learners in attaining the education and work readiness skills needed to prepare them for gaining employment. Retention responsibilities include assuming the role of a Success Coach for students in the program during the academic year. Coaching duties include meeting/contacting students on a regular basis, reviewing progress reports, making referrals and providing a support system to create a strong foundation for academic success. This position will assist in the implementation, recruitment and retention of the Jacobs Presidential Scholars program and special projects as assigned by the Assistant Director.
Major Responsibilities
- Recruitment: Collaborates with faculty in career and technical programs to recruit students for the Jacobs program through classroom presentations, outreach to community organizations, and TMCC recruitment events as requested by the Assistant Director.
- Retention: Meets one-on-one with Jacobs students to review academic progress, provide referrals, monitor work-readiness tasks, connect students with job preparation services, and track and report student progress.
- Miscellaneous Duties: Manages reporting required by donors and the TMCC Foundation. Represents the department on campus and community committees related to student success, assists with grant updates, and completes special projects assigned by the Assistant Director.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
2. One (1) year of experience providing direct services to students in an educational or nonprofit setting

1. Associates degree a regionally accredited college
2. Three (3) years of experience providing direct services to students in an educational or nonprofit setting
3. Experience in student recruitment, retention and outreach
4. Experience working with either non-traditional student populations, or low-income student populations
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience working in a community college or higher education setting
2. Experience providing enrollment, registration, or advising support to a student cohort
3. Experience providing coaching and student success strategies
4. Experience delivering presentations to students, families, schools, or community groups
5. Experience using student information systems, CRM systems, PeopleSoft, or Canvas
6. Experience with reporting student data and information using Google Workspace
7. Bilingual in Spanish and English
Salary and Benefits Information:
Salary: $58,415 - $73,019, initial salary placement will be dependent on education level and years of experience

Degrees must be accredited by CHEA - and USDE-Recognized Accrediting Organizations.
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Any expense related to the evaluation will be the responsibility of the candidate.
