What this job involves - This role is pivotal in driving energy efficiency and sustainable practices across our client's expansive 18-million-square-foot Americas corporate real estate portfolio, which encompasses mixed-use offices, labs, and data centers. As the Americas Energy Manager, you will lead both CapEx and OpEx energy projects, manage highly successful low/no-cost energy programs, and implement advanced AI and Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD) analytics tools to automate conservation measures. At JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way — for our clients, ourselves and our fellow employees. Partnering closely with site facilities managers and building engineers, you will identify energy efficiency opportunities, review capital project designs, and manage quarterly and monthly sustainability reporting. In this position, you will lead efforts to optimize building performance, manage utility data, and champion conservation projects that align with our client's ambitious net-zero carbon goals. What sets JLL apart is our culture of collaboration, locally and across the globe, and you will leverage this network to share best practices and scale impact. By steering these critical programs, you will help redefine how corporate real estate impacts the planet while delivering measurable financial and environmental value.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Develop and execute strategic energy management plans across the client's Americas portfolio to meet greenhouse gas reduction targets.
- Manage and expand the portfolio's Low/No Cost energy savings program to identify and execute operational efficiency opportunities
- Leverage AI platforms and Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD) analytics tools to automate and streamline the identification of energy conservation measures.
- Collaborate daily with on-site facility managers and building engineers to implement energy-saving adjustments and optimize building systems.
- Direct the lifecycle of OpEx energy projects and provide project management oversight from initial scoping to execution and verification.
- Review engineering designs for large capital projects and lifecycle replacement initiatives across the Americas portfolio to ensure maximum energy efficiency.
- Co-author and co-present quarterly low/no-cost energy savings reports and compile regional data for the monthly global energy report.
- Provide technical expertise and training to operations teams on sustainable practices and advanced energy-saving methodologies.
- Engage with external utility companies, regulatory bodies, and industry groups to leverage rebate opportunities and stay ahead of energy trends.
- We choose to take the more inspiring, innovative, and optimistic path on our journey toward success by exploring and piloting cutting-edge smart building and electrification technologies.
- Maintain and update standard operating procedures for project playbooks and work order/ maintenance tracking systems like Corrigo.
- Lead regional energy workstreams and collaborate with platform teams to develop and share energy management best practices across JLL accounts.

- Strong technical competency in HVAC systems, central plants, hot water systems, and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Advanced capability in calculating energy savings, analyzing complex utility datasets, and interpreting trend data.
- We embrace more innovative ways of working and prioritize opportunities to strengthen and advance your career through continuous technical learning and professional development.
- Demonstrated experience managing OpEx budgets and coordinating multiple energy-focused engineering projects simultaneously.
- Strong presentation and client-facing communication skills, with a positive, solutions-oriented approach to complex engineering challenges.
Preferred qualifications:
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credential or active pursuit of CIET CEM certification.
- Familiarity with smart building platforms, IoT sensors, and advanced analytical tools used in modern energy management.

- Experience aligning building automation system architecture with corporate information security standards.
- Experience managing energy and sustainability programs specifically for technology clients or large, complex corporate portfolios.
- Technical knowledge of central plant electrification projects, including heat recovery chillers and boiler optimization strategies.
