About the Role

Molecular You is redefining what it means to know your health. Our precision multi-omic platform generates deep molecular profiles that help people and their clinicians take meaningful, proactive action. As a Junior Lab Technician, you will be an important member of our analytical laboratory team, supporting the high-quality sample and laboratory workflows that underpin our clinical multi-omic platform.

This is a hands-on development opportunity for an early-career technician who is rigorous, curious, and eager to grow in a clinical analytical laboratory. You will build strong foundations in specimen management, laboratory quality, documentation, and instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities

Sample Management & Laboratory Workflow

Receive, ship, inspect, document, label, process, and store biological specimens according to company SOPs.

Verify sample identification and accompanying documentation, and assess specimen quality including hemolysis, labeling, volume, leakage, and storage conditions.

Maintain accurate sample traceability throughout the specimen lifecycle.

Laboratory Operations & Collaboration

Monitor laboratory inventory and replenish reagents, consumables, and supplies to support uninterrupted operations.

Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and readiness in accordance with laboratory standards.

Participate in internal training, competency assessments, and cross-training across laboratory workflows.

Collaborate with scientists, laboratory operations, quality, and other cross-functional team members to support reliable and efficient clinical laboratory operations.

Support laboratory projects and operational initiatives as assigned.

Documentation, Data & Quality

Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready electronic and paper laboratory records.

Enter and verify sample and laboratory information in databases, LIMS, and tracking systems.

Assist with laboratory data upload, verification, quality assurance review, and documentation checks.

Follow Molecular You SOPs, quality management procedures, biosafety requirements, and applicable laboratory safety standards.

Report quality issues, safety concerns, incidents, deviations, or non-conformances promptly and participate in corrective and continuous-improvement activities.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.

Hands-on experience in a laboratory environment through employment, co-op, internship, academic research, or equivalent practical training.

Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to accurate, reproducible laboratory work.

Ability to follow written procedures and SOPs carefully while asking appropriate questions and escalating issues when needed.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Comfort using standard computer applications and willingness to learn laboratory information systems and scientific software.

A genuine interest in developing technical skills in analytical laboratory science, including mass spectrometry.

Physical and Visual Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg).

Ability to perform repetitive laboratory tasks requiring fine motor skills.

Normal color vision is required to accurately distinguish sample quality indicators, laboratory labels, and color-based quality assessment materials.

Work Environment

This onsite position is performed in a laboratory environment handling human biological specimens. The successful candidate must complete required Biosafety and WHMIS training, follow laboratory safety policies and procedures, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and handle biological specimens and dry ice safely in accordance with company procedures.
