About the Role

We are looking for a Java Backend Engineer – L2 to join our engineering team in Pune. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience building scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, SQL, and AWS .

This role is suited for an engineer who enjoys solving backend engineering problems, building reliable APIs and services, and working with modern cloud technologies. We are open to candidates with 4+ years of experience who demonstrate strong technical depth and hands-on project experience.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot .

Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices .

Work with relational databases and write efficient SQL queries .

Develop reliable, scalable, and maintainable backend services.

Deploy and support applications on AWS cloud infrastructure .

Work with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, IAM, CloudWatch, SQS/SNS, ECS/EKS , depending on project requirements.

Troubleshoot application issues and contribute to production support and performance improvements.

Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.

Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders.

Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Must-Have Skills

4+ years of software development experience

Strong hands-on experience with Java

Strong experience with Spring Boot / Spring Framework

Experience developing REST APIs / RESTful web services

Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Microservices architecture

Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases

MySQL

PostgreSQL

Oracle

or equivalent

Hands-on AWS experience is mandatory

Good understanding of backend application development, debugging, and performance optimization

Experience working in Agile development environments

AWS Experience

Candidates should have actual project/deployment experience with AWS , rather than AWS being listed only as a skill or certification.

Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:

Amazon EC2

Amazon S3

Amazon RDS

AWS Lambda

API Gateway

ECS / EKS

IAM

CloudWatch

SQS / SNS

AWS Serverless services

What We're Looking For

Strong hands-on Java backend development experience.

Candidates who have built and supported real-world backend applications.

Practical experience with Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, SQL, and AWS .

Candidates from product, SaaS, or strong enterprise technology environments are welcome.

We value demonstrated project experience over simply having technologies listed on a resume.

Candidates with 4–5 years of experience are welcome if they demonstrate strong technical capability and relevant hands-on experience.
