The Center has also led development of historic, proactive legislation advancing robust protections for reproductive rights. Internship Summary: The Center’s Latin America & the Caribbean team is looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful and highly organized intern with a commitment to reproductive rights issues to engage in communications and advocacy activities to enforce reproductive rights norms in national, regional and international fora.
The internship is full time from beginning January 12th to July 10th, 2026.
Responsibilities : As an Communications Intern with LAC Office, your primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Support the daily monitoring of the Center’s media coverage and the collection of data for media monitoring and reporting purposes.
· Assist in the logistical coordination and execution of both in-person and virtual events organized by the Center. This may include managing flight bookings and other travel-related arrangements, coordinating accommodation and transportation for Center staff and external guests, compiling event notes and key discussion points, and preparing supporting documentation, among other tasks.
· Support the ongoing maintenance and updating of media databases and contact lists.
· Assist with the planning and execution of logistical activities related to communications initiatives, including the distribution of materials, coordination with vendors, and gathering information required for budget preparation.
· Download images, videos, interviews, and other materials and upload them to the Center’s cloud storage system (file migration).
· Assist in drafting documents, as well as translating press releases and other written materials.
· Current student of social communication, organizational communication, design, audiovisual, journalism, international relations, political science or another related undergraduate program.
· Strong writing skills.
· Demonstrated an interest in gender/women's issues and reproductive rights.
· Interest to learn the functioning of international human rights law.
· Fluency in Spanish and English (B1), Portuguese is a plus.
· Knowledge and use of video editing and graphic design software is a plus.
· Organizational, planning and critical thinking skills.
Qualifications
· Currently enrolled in a degree program in Business Administration, Records Management, Information Sciences, Archival Studies, Library and Information Science, or a related field.
· Strong written communication skills.
· Must be currently enrolled in a university, technical institute, or other formal educational institution.
· Interest in gender issues and reproductive rights.
· Proficiency in both Spanish and English (spoken, reading, and writing), with a minimum English proficiency level of B1.
· Strong organizational, planning, and critical thinking skills.
