As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and optimization of components across our gas power portfolio. You will collaborate with cross-functional, global teams to deliver high-quality solutions, drive product upgrades, and ensure our designs meet rigorous performance and safety standards. This role requires a balance of technical ownership, innovative problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement. **Job Description** **Key Responsibilities:** + **Design & Analysis:** Execute mechanical design and analysis (stress, modal, lifing) for **Rotating components** in gas turbines, steam, generators, and accessory systems. + **Technical Stewardship:** Take ownership of mechanical hardware; perform validation testing; and evaluate designs for factors like thermal growth, manufacturing variation, and assembly stack-up to ensure optimal product behavior. + **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Partner with engineering experts, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to optimize sub-systems and components. + **Continuous Improvement:** Lead root cause analyses (RCA) to improve reliability, quality, and yield. Apply Lean principles to streamline processes and drive innovation. + **Project Delivery:** Manage milestones through formal/informal technical reviews, ensuring compliance with NPI processes and design practices. + **Mentorship:** Foster a collaborative environment by coaching team members and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Principal and Chief Engineers. **What You'll Bring - Basic Qualifications:** + Master's or bachelor's in engineering with specialization in Mechanical, Design and Applied Mechanics + Minimum of 4 years of Engineering experience. **What Will Make You Stand Out - Desired Qualifications:** + Additional 1-2 years of relevant engineering experience + Technical proficiency in engineering software (ANSYS-Classic/Workbench, NX) and programming languages (Python, Excel VBA) for data analysis. + A "Lean" mindset, familiarity with AI-driven tools, and a passion for innovative design. + Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative, inclusive, and fast-paced environment. + Strong communication skills, with a transparent approach to project management and problem-solving. **Additional Information** **Relocation Assistance Provided:** Yes GE Vernova is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
